Personally I’d rather MS got the known bugs fixed, but I’ll take the month off from patches. At least from Microsoft.

I’ve recently changed all of my web sites over to using WordPress and I am hosting them at GoDaddy.com instead of doing my own hosting. This was inspired by a number of things; simpler web hosting, cost savings and not least of which less noise in my own apartment.

One of the things that I dislike the most about WordPress is the editor. It seems to change each time I use it and the WYSIWYG aspects are not as mature as I would like.

Microsoft Live Writer is a software package that Microsoft originally release to be compatible with their own blogging software, but they have since built in support for other packages, most importantly WordPress.

While the support is not as complete as it could be, it seems to perform very well and the environment is similar to MS Word or FrontPage. The major differences being the added support for features that are specific to blogging.

While this may not be the perfect solution, or the final solution that I am going to use, I am going to give it a try for a while.

This year daylight savings time is coming several years earlier. Typically it would have been the last week of march or the first week of april, this year it is happening on March 11th.

In Microsoft’s February patch Tuesday they released a patch for Windows XP that adjust the timing when your computer will change it’s time. While this changes the time correctly Microsoft Outlook’s calendar may have some issues, as it stores the meeting time in outlook instead of calculating it each time.

This fixed your computer but what about any other devices you own that change time automatically for daylight savings? All of those non-connected devices will need to be changed in March and if they change themselves in april you will have to change them back.
